The opening quarter was all Lady Saints, as they jumped out to a 9-0 lead, but the rest of the way the Lady Jays settled in and got going, and the buckets started piling up as the game ended 56-46 Nevada. After the game Coach Eddie Beck spoke on the win, "We got off to a slow start, we settled early for some shots, we finally got going and started attacking, Gabby got going and showed how good she can be. Zyirhun did a great job defending their best player tonight, good team win."
Gabby Evans was the difference maker in this one, as she poured in a game-high 23 points. Evans also had 5 assists and 5 steals, with her defense really giving a much-needed spark in the middle of the game. "We came out rough in the first half, we picked it up in the 2nd half, played better defense, got some layups and picked up the pace," Evans said after the game. Zyirhun Vines had 15 points and 8 rebounds. Alisha Gulley scored 7 points, with Zyirannah Vines scoring 6, Tott Young with 3, and Addie Ridling scoring 2.
For GMCS, Preslee Peck led the way with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Silbi Jones poured in 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Kat Morris had 9 points and 7 boards, with Baylee Pogue scoring 6. Sharpshooter Kynlee Glass knocked down a 3 early on and Heaven Garcia added 2 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
In the Jr. game, GMCS won the match 34-20. Preslee Peck scored 22 and had 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. Gracie Bullock scored 8 points and had 5 steals. Payton Anderson scored 4 and grabbed 10 rebounds. For the Jr. Lady Jays, Devan Griffith led them in scoring with 16 points. De'asia Allen scored 3 and Claire Fore added 1 point.
