Lady Jays Beat Lady Pirates in 4 Sets
Nevada- The Lady Jays Volleyball squad took on the Lady Pirates of Emerson on Tuesday night as the Lady Jays were looking to get back to their winning ways. Nevada jumped out early in the opening set and made quick work of the Lady Pirates 25-10 as they came out and set the tone for the match. Emerson would fight back and win set two 25-21 to even the match at a game apiece. The Lady Jays would turn it back on in set 3 and 25-13 to take a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth set. It took a great effort by the Lady Jays late in the set, but they made plays when they needed too and won 27-25 to win the match. 

Jillian Pinner led the team at the net with 3 kills and also added 6 aces. CJ McCallie led the team with 8 aces and added a kill. Karleigh Carlton served up an ace and made a lot of nice sets at the net to set up her teammates. Zette Brown added 1 kill, 1 ace, and 2 digs for the Lady Jays, while Leymy Contreras and Alisha Gulley each had 2 aces. Adrianna Russell added 1 kill and Bella English had 3 aces and 1 dig. 

The Lady Jays are back in action on Monday as they host GMCS. 

In the Jr. game, the Lady Jays won in straight sets 25-9 and 25-11 to claim a big win for the Jr. Lady Jays. Gabby Evans was lights out at the service line as she served up a season-high 10 aces. Zoe English, Jayde Murry, and Gracie Hunt each had 2 aces. Addie Ridling had 1 kill and Braxtyn Ghormley had 1 ace. The Jr. Jays are back in action at home on Thursday.
