Karleigh Carlton gave the Lady Jays a spark with an impressive 4-point play. After that, it was all Nevada. The Lady Jays outscored Dermott by 18 points from that moment and went on to beat the Lady Rams, 55-53.
Ke'Asia Pearson played a heck of a game, scoring 29 points, and Ke'Asia rebounded the ball very well. Karleigh Carlton would finish the game with 10 points, including that big shot to flip the game. Jordin Haley and Kadiya Curry each scored 8 points, and, for the second game this week, four or more Lady Jays have scored 8 or more points, which is showing great offensive balance. The Blue Jays had their hands full with a very good offensive player from Dermott, but weathered the storm and got big stops when they needed to to secure the win.
The Lady Jays are the #3 seed in the South Regional Tournament to be held in Emerson this upcoming week. Nevada is scheduled to play at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday against Mt. Ida.
