Camden- The 2024 Nevada Volleyball season is underway and the Lady Jays hit the road for a 3-game set against the Lady Cardinals. The Lady Jays dropped a tough Varsity game in four sets to Camden-Fairview 11-25, 25-22, 17-25, and 17-25. Jillian Pinner had a great game at the net as she had 8 blocks and 2 kills to go along with 5 aces and 4 digs. CJ McCallie had 5 blocks, 5 aces, and 1 dig. Karleigh Carlton had 2 aces for the Lady Jays, Zette Brown had 3 aces and 1 block, Izabella English had 3 aces and 1 dig, and Bella Petite and Alisha Gulley each had 1 dig. Next up for Nevada is Mineral Springs on Tuesday Aug. 27.Â
In the 8th grade game, the Lady Jays would win the game 26-24 and 17-16. Jayde Murry had 7 aces, Zoe English and Raelyn Sampson each had 2 aces, and Isabell Reyes had 1 ace. In the 9th grade game, Nevada won a tough 3-set match 23-25, 17-25, and 15-4. Great comeback win for the 9th grade group, as they won the final set in dominating fashion. Gracie Hunt had 9 aces, Gabby Evans had 7 aces, and Raelyn Sampson had 6 aces to lead the way for the Lady Jays. Addie Ridling served up 2 aces and Annabeth Hunt added an ace as well. The Jr. Lady Jays are back in action against Mineral Springs on Tuesday.Â
