The B Team dropped a tough opening match to Trinity Christian 21-25 and 19-25. Natalee Chunn led the team at the service line with 6 aces. Savannah Fields had 2 kills, 1 ace, and 1 dig. Brailyn Almand had 2 kills and 1 ace, while Raylee Adkison had 1 kill. Kylie Bullock and Miley Loe each had an ace.
The A Team dropped a tough match the Nevada on Saturday morning 23-25 and 25-27. Silbi Jones had a great match at the net with 11 kills. Jones also added 2 aces. Gracy Martin had 5 kills, 4 aces, and 1 dig. Laila Santifer led the way at the service line with 5 aces, Santifer also added 2 kills. Baylee Pogue had 2 kills and 1 ace, while Addy Peek had 2 digs and 1 ace. Heaven Garcia had 2 digs.
With both teams losing, that set up an elimination game between the two GMCS teams. The A Team would win the match 25-19 and 25-12. Silbi Jones racked up 13 kills and Gracy Martin had 7 aces to lead the way for the Volley Saints. Raylee Adkison was very impressive for the B Team as she had 3 kills, 2 aces, and 1 dig. Baylee Pogue had 3 aces and 2 kills. Kynlee Glass had 3 aces and 1 kill. Kynlee Glass returned to full activity on Friday for the first time since the Summer, so it is great to see Kynlee healthy and back on the court. Heaven Garcia led the match in digs with 4. Addy Peek, Savannah Fields, and Brailyn Almand each had 3 digs. Katie Holland had 1 kill and 1 dig.
The Volley Saints would advance to take on Trinity Christian and they would win in dominant fashion 25-10, 25-14. Gracy Martin had a team-high 6 aces and 1 kill. Silbi Jones had 5 aces and 1 kill. Baylee Pogue, Laila Santifer, and Katie Holland each had 2 aces, Pogue added a kill. Heaven Garcia had 4 digs and Kynlee Glass had 1 kill and 2 digs. Addy Peek had 1 ace and 3 digs, Brailyn Almand had 2 digs, and Savannah Fields had 1 ace.
The Lady Saints would then advance for a rematch against Nevada with a trip to the Championship on the line. GMCS would fall to Nevada 10-25, 14-25. Silbi Jones had 3 kills, Gracy Martin had 1 ace and 1 kill. Katie Holland and Baylee Pogue each had 2 aces. Savannah Fields had 1 kill, Addy Peek added 2 digs and Kynlee Glass had 1 dig.
The Volley Saints are back in action on Monday as they travel to El Dorado for a match with Westside. GMCS won the previous matchup against Westside in 5-sets. The Jr. Team begins at 4:30.
