Lady Saints Continue to Roll with 57-17 win over Columbia on Senior Night
Hope- Charity Zumwalt, Evan Chambless, Laikyn Mitchell, and Mikayla Fields were honored last night from the GMCS Basketball team on Senior Night, as the Lady Saints welcomed Columbia Christian for a three-game slate on Tuesday night. The Lady Saints started out rolling and did not slow down as they claimed an impressive 40-point victory over the Lady Crusaders 57-17. 

GMCS displayed great ball movement on Tuesday night as they seemed to find a lot of easy layups from some great passes that found open players cutting to the rim. The Lady Saints had 23 assists as a team. 

Three Lady Saints players were in double figures on Tuesday, as Mikayla Fields led the way with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Charity Zumwalt posted 12 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals. Laikyn Mitchell finished the night with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Gracy Martin played a good game with 9 points and 4 assists, and Silbi Jones added 6 points and 7 rebounds. Baylee Pogue added 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Evan Chambless played very well as she ran the offense to perfection and played great defense. The Lady Saints are back in action on Friday night as they host ACA. 

The Junior Lady Saints continue to impress as they won another game in impressive fashion, led by some excellent team defense as they allowed just 11 points in their 31-11 victory. Heaven Garcia, Abby Mendoza, and Laila Santifer combined for 21 steals, which was an insane number of forced turnovers. 

Preslee Peck also got in on the defensive action as she posted 3 blocks. Heaven Garcia led the Saints with 11 points, Garcia also added 5 rebounds. Preslee Peck had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Abby Mendoza played another great game on both ends of the floor as she finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brailyn Almand had 2 points for the Lady Saints as well as 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Laila Santifer was all over the court as she had 8 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists. 

The Junior Lady Saints are back in action on Friday night against ACA, as they look to avenge their loss earlier in the season. 

The Junior Boys fought back in their game, but came up just a little short as they fell to a very good Columbia team, 54-40. Hooks Brown scored 20 points and grabbed 13 boards to post another double-double. Brandy Edwards had 11 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals. Kason Flowers added 6 points and 8 rebounds, Chase Sundberg added 2 points and 4 rebounds for the Saints. 

The Junior Boys are back in action on Thursday night as they play Stephens Christian.
