The Prescott Lady Wolves defeated the Centerpoint Lady Knights at home yesterday afternoon 18-3. Taking the win on their home turf, in new uniforms and with the new scoreboard sponsored by Bank of Delight and J. Brown's Auto Sales in the background, the Lady Wolves reminded fans why they are a crowd favorite.

In spite of the close loss taken last Friday at Harmony Grove, the Lady Wolves rallied with a different pitching lineup and strong defense. The dangerous duo of Brooke Formby and Lainey Robbins on the mound proved to be a recipe for success, and the two were able to able to gain five strikeouts, collectively, for the Lady Wolves. "They work well together," Coach Mike Godwin said. "By changing up the pitching rotations, Brooke and Lainey were able to keep our opponents off balance with the different aspects of speed."

Godwin also said the Lady Wolves' strong first inning helped secure the win. "The girls came out and had a good defensive first inning with three up and three down," he said. "We got them out, and then we came in and scored. We got the lead and we were able to hold it." Godwin said the Lady Wolves' excellent hitting yesterday was also a big aspect of the favorable outcome. (See game report below for stats.)

Tomorrow's Gurdon game has been cancelled, so the Lady Wolves play next on Monday, April 11 against Bismarck.
