Lafayette County Deputy Struck by Utility Vehicle
Saturday evening at approximately 7:15 pm an accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 29 South and 355 East. Upon arrival law enforcement observed two vehicles in the ditch on the Southwest side of the intersection. Preliminary report advices that a white construction/utility truck had been traveling West on Highway 355. It is unknown at this time if the driver failed to yield or stop at the stop sign.

The utility vehicle entered Highway 29 South and struck a Lafayette County Sheriff Deputy’s vehicle. The Deputy was traveling South on Highway 29.  There was one occupant in each vehicle and both drivers were transported to Texarkana Hospitals by Pafford EMS to be treated for injuries.

Arkansas State Trooper, Trevor Dew was the investigating officer and was assisted by Hempstead County Sheriff Department, Lafayette County Sheriff Department and The City of Lewisville Police Department. The Patmos Volunteer Fire Department, the Spring Hill Volunteer Fire Department and the Stamps Fire Department were also on scene.
