The Blevins, Nevada, and Prescott School Districts recently received boxes of hand sanitizer courtesy of Hamilton Haven.
“We feel it’s important to give back to the community,” said Hamilton Haven administrative assistant Leslie Hughes, who coordinated the effort. “The community is a big part of helping us carry out our mission, and we want to reciprocate.”
This venture is a continuation of a partnership between Hamilton Haven and Ferncliff Camp & Conference Center, a nonprofit located west of Little Rock known for its summer camp program.
“Thanks to Hamilton Haven for their donation of hand sanitizer to help keep our staff and students safe from sickness as the flu season approaches,” said Prescott School District communications director Valarie Cobb.
In addition to the schools, hand sanitizer was delivered to other local entities including the Nevada County Jail, Nevada County Library, and the Rotary Club.
More than 2,000 bottles were provided overall.
“Hamilton Haven looks for ways to make a meaningful contribution to our community,” Hamilton Haven executive director Michele Hamilton Rhodes said.
Open since April 2020, Hamilton Haven provides emergency, temporary housing for displaced families and individuals.
