Love's opens new location in Prescott, donates to Senior Citizen Center
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Love's location in Prescott was held this morning with an excited crowd. This new store at I-30 Exit 46 is just across the street from the first Love's. The high traffic volume of travelers and truck drivers who frequent the Love's in Prescott has made it one of the busiest locations of the chain in all of Arkansas, prompting the company to build another store to handle the volume of customers who stop in on a daily basis.

Numerous local residents turned up today to join in the festivities, take a tour of the new gas station/rest stop, and sample some Bojangles chicken that is rumored around town to be quite delicious and savory. In fact, many topics of conversation at today's event revolved around favorite menu items at the new eatery.

Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver kicked off the celebration with a few words about the Prescott community’s enthusiasm for what he called a first-class operation. “Love's means a lot to this community, and we are thankful for their investment,” he said. Oliver shared a humorous anecdote that brought forth laughter from the ceremony’s participants and ended his short speech with “One Love is good, but Two Love's are even better!”

Love's General Manager Richard Harp followed with a heartfelt thanks to the community for the warm welcome given him and fellow Love's representatives. Love's District manager Franky Pipes shared the sentiment by thanking the crowd for participating in today’s ceremony. She also said a remodel is expected for the first Love's location to make it “bigger and better.”

In a separate interview with SWARK.Today, Pipes and Harp elaborated even further on their newest venture in Prescott. “We’ve employed over 100 new employees and transferred over 15 from the existing truck care into our new truck shop. This type of truck care is relatively new in the company, and we’re excited to have Prescott as our new location,” Pipes said.

Harp followed by saying they’ve had a great reception from the community: “Since the day we opened the store, it’s been busy. Actually both locations have seen an uptick in customer numbers.”

Just before the cutting of the ribbon, Harp shared an important announcement with cermony guests. “Any time a new Love's opens, we choose an entity in that community, usually a charitable organization, and Love's gives that entity a donation. We were privileged enough to give a $2,000 donation to the Senior Citizen Center here in Prescott,” Harp said. Representatives from Prescott’s Senior Citizen Center were present for the announcement and gathered with the Love's team members for a photo. (See below)

After the cutting of the ribbon, participants moved inside for the fruit snacks and sweet treats provided by the Love's staff and to mingle with fellow guests. It wasn’t long though before a line developed at the Bojangles counter. It would seem that many of this ceremony’s participants had heard more than enough talk about the Bojangles chicken sandwich and decided lunch would come early today.
