It’s the third straight year in which Jones has been given the honor, one of only two Arkansas gymnasts to receive the nod more than two times.
Maddie has given as much time and effort to serving the Arkansas community as she has in the gym over her four years as a Razorback. She is currently the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president, her second consecutive year in a leadership role and her fourth on the committee. In her role as president, she helps lead monthly meetings and has played a key role in outreach and goals for the committee. Jones and SAAC organize service activities in the area like Shop with the Razorbacks, Healthy Hogs, and Book Hogs.
Last summer, she was involved in one of her biggest service projects to date as she and several other Arkansas student-athletes took a trip to Nassau, Bahamas in July that included volunteering in a local kids’ basketball camp and clean-up of a community park.
She has not only been an excellent representative of the gymnastics program, but of the entire athletic department, as she has attended events such as the Women Leaders in Sports National Convention and the SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council meeting.
Maddie and the No. 16 Gymbacks will continue their season in NCAA regional competition, which is set for April 3-6. Arkansas will find out its regional placement during the 2025 NCAA Gymnastics Selection Show on Monday, March 24 at 11 a.m. CT. The show will air live on ESPNU.
