Hope Public Schools Social Worker Dr. Linda Clark heads the Hope Public Schools’ Arkansas Counts initiative for the 2020 U.S. Census. Through a grant from non-profit organizations and businesses including Tyson Foods, Walmart Foundation and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, the district is encouraging local residents to participate in the Census. A proper Census count in Hempstead County and Arkansas will contribute toward strengthening federal education funding for the state and the school district. The official Census count begins April 1 nationwide when residents will be asked to respond either online, by mail or by telephone. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
