By Otis Kirk

FAYETTEVILLE -- Malique Ewin has entered the transfer portal becoming the latest Razorback to take that action.

Ewin, 6-10, 240, still has to receive a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible for another season. He played one season at Arkansas transferring in from Florida State. He had started his career at Ole Miss in 2022-23. It was the 2023-24 season at South Plains Community College that Ewin is using as a method to gain another year of eligibility. Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia was granted an extra year due to junior college, but the NCAA didn't declare to make a permanent base for another year.

At Arkansas last season, Ewin played in 37 games averaging 21 minutes per game. He averaged 9.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.7 steal and 1.1 blocks each game. He shot 59% from the field and 73.9% at the free throw line.

Arkansas forward Karter Knox signed with Louisville and guard D.J. Wagner opted for Maryland. Nick Pringle and Trevon Brazile were both seniors and out of eligibility. Guard Darius Acuff Jr. is expected to enter the 2026 NBA Draft. He attended the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets game Saturday night in Los Angeles. Guard Meleek Thomas has declared for the draft but is keeping his options to return to Arkansas as well.

On Tuesday, Bleacher Report predicted Acuff to the Sacramento Kings at No. 5 and Thomas chosen by Dallas Mavericks at No. 30 in Round 1. Brazile is expected to be drafted in the second round.

Arkansas has signed Furman forward Cooper Bowser, 6-11. 215, and Georgia guard Jeremiah Wilkinson, 6-1. 185, from the transfer portal. They have signed Little Rock Christian forward JJ Andrews and West Haven (Conn.) Notre Dame guard Abdou Toure. Fairfax (Va.) Pope Paul VI Catholic guard Jordan Smith Jr. has long been committed and will sign Monday with the Razorbacks. Andrews and Smith are five-star recruits and Toure a high four-star.
