LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the City of Little Rock, Parks and Recreation, and the Little Rock Marathon will host a joint press conference to celebrate the designation of Little Rock as a Runner Friendly Community by the Road Runners Club of America.
Little Rock is the only city in Arkansas to receive this honor in the club's 65-year history. Members of the Little Rock running community will be on hand to make a presentation to Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott.
This press event will feature speakers and updates from the Little Rock Marathon, Little Rock Road Runners Club, and the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Planned remarks will include details on new course routes for Race Weekend in March; the introduction of a new Family Fun Zone that will run during the weekend and is open to all families in Central Arkansas; and updated numbers on the economic impact Race Weekend has on the Little Rock Metro.
Little Rock Marathon Race Weekend will be March 2-3, 2024.
