FAYETTEVILLE  - Arkansas Razorbacks guard, Mason Jones, has signed with an agent, so goes henceforth goes into the June NBA draft with no option to return to the Razorbacks.

Jones has signed with NBA agent Richie Felder of CAA Sports. “Welcome to the CAA Family, Mason Jones,” Felder posted Friday on his Twitter account  over a Razorbacks image of Jones. Jones had declared for the NBA draft since March 27 and expressed intentions to sign with an agent but, until signing, had the option of returning to the University of Arkansas where he played the last two seasons.

A sophomore junior college transfer joining former Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson in 2018-208 and averaging 13.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists, Jones blossomed to SEC Co-Player of the Year stardom in the 2019-2020 season for Coach Eric Musselman’s 20-10 Razorbacks. First-team All-SEC on both the AP and Coaches All-SEC teams and named SEC Co-Player of the Year along with Mississippi State forward, Reggie Perry, by the AP, Jones led the SEC in scoring, 683, averaging 22.0 points, rebounding, 169 with a 5.5 average, and assists, 106 for a 3.4 average, and led the nation in free throws made and attempted, 233 of 282. Musselman had anticipated Jones signing with an agent when he first announced he would turn pro.

Arkansas sophomore guard and former Fort Smith Northside state champion, Isaiah Joe, also has submitted his name in the NBA draft but has not hired an agent. Joe and his family are considering his options while getting advice from the NBA’s Undergraduate Advisory Committee. “He’ll keep the door open for a possible return to college,” Musselman said when announcing April 16 that Joe had submitted his name for the NBA draft.   “Isaiah and his family, they want to gather as much feedback as they possibly can then make a decision whenever that time comes, whether to keep his name in the draft or to come back to the University of Arkansas. We want to support him”

Joe has up to June 3 to decide whether to keep his name in the draft or return to the UA. Starting both for Anderson’s 2018-2019 Razorbacks and for Musselman in 2019-2020. In 2019-2020 Joe led the SEC in 3-point shooting, 94 for 275, and averaged 16.9 points, second on the team to Jones.
