The Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting this afternoon for Massage Therapy located at 104 E 16th St in Hope. Greg May, LMT, LMDT, owns the business and specializes in deep tissue, relaxation, pain relief, range of motion, stretching, prenatal and MLD massages.
As you walk in, you will find the place instantly inviting with beautiful decor and a couch made for those awaiting their turn to experience magic hands as some refer to May. A sign reads "Healing Hands" with a poem, a relaxing fountain atop a table with a fashionable lamp. Throughout the entire establishment, everywhere you look whispers tranquility. May has three massage rooms and each one is dimly lit with candles, set up with all the items that are needed to make a person feel refreshed and renewed.
Mayor Don Still was in attendance and said a few words before the ribbon was cut, "What a great day to see a new business open in Hope. I am always pleased with growth in the community and I am excited for Greg" Still said.
When asked about the new location, May said, "I have been doing massage in Hope for 20 years. I have worked out of salons, I worked at The Loft for 12 years. I also work in Hot Springs on the weekends at a day spa. I have always wanted my own place so when this space became available, it was just right for me."
He went on to talk about his passion for massage and his treatments, " I am trained in a lot of different modalities. I just got certified in lymphatic drainage massage which is good for a range of people. My deep tissue work is the most popular, relaxation massage is for people who wanted to be pampered, I do cranial sacral massage, which is a very light touch, head and foot massage and I can add in hands as well. I invite everyone to come out, give me a try and see how it works out. My clientele are my number one priority, I want to make them as comfortable as I can and meet their needs the best I can," May said.
Executive Director of the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Christy Burns said, "It is always a pleasure to cut the ribbon at a new business here in Hope. I wish Greg all the luck in the world and I am proud for him."
