FAYETTEVILLE - Hitting four home runs during four consecutive games of the Arkansas Razorbacks’ 5-0 week has earned Arkansas designated hitter Matt Goodheart SEC Player of the Week.
Goodheart’s honor was announced Monday by the SEC Office in Birmingham, Ala.
For the last four games of Arkansas’ week that included sweeping two midweek nonconference games over Memphis at Baum-Walker Stadium and then sweeping a 3-game SEC West series at Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., senior Goodheart of Magnolia homered each game including sandwiching solo home runs around a 2-run home run at Starkville.
For the week Goodheart knocked in seven runs.
The Razorbacks, 19-3 overall, 5-1 in the SEC and ranked second nationally by D1-Baseball, host the University of Central Arkansas Bears in a 6:30 nonconference game tonight at Baum-Walker Stadium and Thursday through Saturday at 6:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 2 p.m, host the Auburn Tigers in a 3-game SEC West series at Baum-Walker Stadium.
