Mayor Oliver reads ‘Corduroy’ to kindergarten students

Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver took some time out today to visit Mrs. Glass’s kindergarten class at Prescott Elementary and read the book Corduroy The book tells the story of Corduroy, a stuffed bear, who sits on the store shelf hoping for a permanent home, and a girl named Lisa, who empties her piggy bank to purchase Corduroy, giving him a new home at her house.

Mayor Oliver had glowing praise for the school, teachers, and children. “It was a very rewarding experience,” Oliver said. “I received a warm welcome from the school, and the kids and I had so much fun reading the book. They were very polite and well-mannered.“ Oliver said the entire experience was wonderful.
