As described by Hope Parks and Recreation Superintendent Summer Chambers, the meeting will be for attendees to narrow down their choices of recreation options for the city to apply for a grant: "This is not the meeting where a splash pad will be decided. This meeting is set up for community members to give ideas on what they would like to see in the community by using the Outdoor Recreation Grant.
After this meeting the top 3 ideas will be presented to the City Board at a later date. The City Board will then decide what to apply for in the grant. This meeting is strictly a requirement for the grant process. I can assure you 100 percent a splash pad is at the top of the list and will be presented to the city board at a later time for permission to apply for this grant. No decisions will me made this Thursday."
