FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kennedy Miller’s stellar freshman campaign was one of the best in the nation in 2024, landing her on Softball America’s Freshman All-America team.
Miller started all 52 games she played in last season, hitting .331 with eight home runs and 36 RBI. Her batting average finished second on the team with her eight round trippers finishing fourth. Perhaps even more impressive was the way she handled the Razorbacks’ veteran pitching staff as the team’s catcher. She committed only one error behind the plate in 310 chances for a .997 fielding percentage while also throwing out five would-be basestealers.
The Georgetown, Texas native earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors following her first-ever SEC series at Auburn. Miller put up a slash line of .545/1.091/.545 over four games that week and paced the Hogs in hits with six and home runs with two. Miller recorded her second career multi-home run outing in game two against the Tigers, smashing a two-run home run in the first and a solo home run in the fourth. The catcher matched her career-best with three hits to go with three RBI and a pair of runs scored in the series-clinching victory.
Miller was placed on the TUCCI/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 25 in April with the list set to be trimmed to a Top 10 on May 9.
