More beasties, more body parts on display Saturday night at Fair Park Drive-Through of Horrors
For their annual display of haunting scenes among the trees, the first responders of Hope Fire Department, Hope Police Department, Hempstead County Sheriff's Office and Pafford Medical Service, along with Scout Troop 5 and members of Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, have conjured up the sights and sounds of sudden death, lingering rot and lurking beasts.

The Halloween Drive-Through began at 7:00 p.m. as the temperatures hit the mid-50s and will continue to welcome motorists until 11:00 p.m. tonight as the waxing gibbous moon shines.  Expect a disturbing few scenes that may turn up in tonight's nightmares, if you're lucky.  We took some photos as the event began.  As the night goes on, things can only deteriorate, in a way the late Vincent Price would have truly appreciated. The man who said, "It's as much fun to scare as to be scared."

The Hope Police Department facebook site provided a map of the route, which we have placed below.  The ad for the event follows, but afterward come the few photos the ghosts and ghouls stayed still long enough to permit as my trembling fingers found the shutter release. To see more, pack the car and take the journey yourself.  We'll post more photos after the event closes.
