FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The National Agricultural Law Center is hosting a webinar as part of its “Growing Careers” series. The upcoming webinar, “Growing Careers in Agricultural and Food Law for Undergraduate Students,” features Marla Dickerson, associate vice chancellor of innovation and strategic partnerships and initiatives for the Southern University Law Center.

“Marla’s webinar in our ‘Growing Careers’ series will be a great event for both undergraduate students and faculty who advise them,” Harrison Pittman, NALC director, said. “She has an extraordinary background that is highly valuable to students and faculty alike.”

The “Growing Careers” series is a part of the NALC’s Bridges Initiative. The Bridges Initiative is a student-focused, public-private partnership that offers professional development, networking, and increased legal knowledge to pre-college, undergraduate, and law students interested in agricultural and food law issues and careers.

Additionally, on Oct. 5, the NALC expanded its national network of partners to include SULC, which is one of six historically black college and university law schools in the United States. Pittman said this is a first-of-its-kind partnership that the NALC looks forward to developing further.

“SULC’s fantastic reputation and highly regarded leaders, such as Marla, make this partnership a tremendous opportunity for us,” Pittman said.

Dickerson looks forward to working more with NALC in the future as well.

“The NALC is a great partner for SULC,” Dickerson said. “I’m looking forward to the future and how we can serve students, faculty, and more with resources such as this upcoming webinar. The ‘Growing Careers’ series is a great way to educate students and those early on in their agricultural and food law careers.”

The webinar begins at 11 a.m. central/noon eastern. Registration is available online.
