Bradley- The Blue Jays (3-0) improved to 3-0, as they hit the road on Thursday night, and beat Bradley 69-55 in a non-conference matchup. Nevada held a slim 12-11 lead after the first quarter, but an 23-point outburst in the 2nd quarter led by Kavion Coleman gave the Jays a 10-point advantage at halftime. Nevada would need a big offensive 4th quarter to pull away on Thursday, as Coleman (11) and Kobe Hughey (10) each scored in double figures in the final quarter to give the Blue Jays a big 14-point road win in Bradley. After the game Coach Mario Bell spoke on the win, "The defense was really sloppy, not to happy with our defense, but we found a way to win which speaks a lot about the team we have here ."
Kavion Coleman led the Jays with 29 points, including three 3-pointers. Kobe Hughey scored 15 points, 12 of which came in the second half. Keyonte Wingfield also scored in double figures with 10 points, Caleb Moss had 9 points, and Monti Mixon and Justin Myrick scored 3 points each. Nevada showed just how explosive they can be, scoring 20+ in two quarters on Thursday night.
Nevada will hit the road tonight as they head to Emerson for a non-conference game against the Pirates. Lady Jays tip-off at 6. With a quick turnaround on Friday night, look for the Jays defense to be more locked in against Emerson.
