Nevada County Depot Museum Awarded Grants for Public Programs & Exhibits
Prescott, AR — The Nevada County Depot Museum announced today that the organization is the recipient of Arkansas Heritage and Small Museum grants for 2026. These grants will allow the Depot Museum to provide new public programs and exhibits throughout the year. Events include activities celebrating America’s 250th birthday as well as programming focused on the arts and sciences. For a full schedule, visit TheDepotMuseum.org/Events.

The Arkansas Small Museum grant award will be used in conjunction with a private donation to
underwrite the cost of new exhibits and programs under the museum’s new “STEAM Saturdays”
series. These programs combine history, science, and art to bring hands-on educational
activities for the whole community.

The next program in this series will be “Electric Flowers,” combining an introduction to simple
circuitry with art to create a fun, light-up flower just in time for a Mother’s Day bouquet. “Electric
Flowers” is scheduled for May 9, 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the Nevada County Depot Museum, 403 W.
1st Street S. in Prescott, Arkansas. Registration is required and participants can sign up now at
TheDepotMuseum.org/events.

In addition to the Small Museum Grant, The Depot Museum has been awarded an Arkansas
Heritage Grant in support of upcoming temporary exhibits and a reenactment of the Battle of
Prairie D’Ane. The reenactment is scheduled for November 7-8 at Prairie D’Ane Battlefield,
2243 Highway 19 N. in Prescott, Arkansas. This event is being held in partnership with Historic
Washington State Park. For details, visit TheDepotMuseum.org and the park site at
