The Nevada County Quorum Court held its first meeting of 2023 last night with newly elected Judge Mike Otwell, new County Clerk Tammy Rose, new Treasurer Ricky Reyenga, and the newest JP, Eric Jackson. The full meeting can be watched above, but here are a few highlights:

Chamber Director Jamie Hillery said a ribbon cutting will be in Emmet Wednesday to celebrate the opening of New 4 You.

Economic Development Director Mary Godwin said the 2023 class of Leadership Nevada County will meet Thursday and Friday this week to kick off the year's events.

Judge Mike Otwell discussed with court members the ordering of his new truck.

Court members, Rose, Reyenga, and Otwell held a discussion about the best way to move forward with financials, as well as road equipment.

Judge Otwell announced that citizens are welcome to attend and speak, but requested that they turn in a written statement two weeks prior so he and court members have time to look into the issue and are able to provide answers at the meeting.
