Nevada High School Announces Honor Graduates
Nevada High School’s Graduation Ceremony is set for Monday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.  Seven seniors will graduate with honors.

Keirston Burks, daughter of Jonathon and Mandy Sadler, will graduate with highest honors.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Future Business Leaders of America.  She serves as secretary of the senior class and is a member of the Lady Jays Volleyball and Track teams.  Keirston is an Arkansas Scholar and recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.  She is one of two seniors recognized by Governor Sarah Sanders on Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day for excellent academic achievement in the senior class.

Burks plans to pursue a career in the United States Air Force.

Caleb Moss, son of Jason and Lindsay Moss, will graduate with highest honors.  He serves as President of the Senior Class, Student Council, and National Honor Society.  He is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Bluejays Basketball and Baseball teams.  Caleb is an Arkansas Scholar, Nevada High School’s Student of the Year, Mr. NHS, and recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.  He is one of five Seniors of Distinction and one of two seniors recognized by Governor Sarah Sanders on Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day for excellent academic achievement in the senior class.

Moss plans to attend Southern Arkansas University to pursue a degree in Business Management.

            Karleigh Carlton, daughter of Casey and Josie Carlton, will graduate with high honors.  She is Vice President of the National Honor Society, Team Captain of the Lady Jays Basketball team (earning 7 1-A All Conference this year), and a member of the Lady Jays Volleyball team.  She has also been a member of the Lady Jays Softball and Track teams and on the NHS Cheer Squad throughout high school.   Karleigh attends Unity Baptist Church in Hope, AR, is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Farmers of America and in the Gifted and Talented Program.  She has served as a class officer, coached pee wee basketball, served as Bluejay Yearbook Manager, and accumulated over 300 community service hours for National Honor Society.  Karleigh was selected homecoming maid her freshman, junior, and senior years.    She received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.

Carlton plans to attend the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana and pursue a degree in social work.  Her long term goal is to earn a master’s degree in social work and become a licensed child therapist.

Morgan Dillard, daughter of Karen Neel and Jonathan Dillard, will graduate with high honors.  She is a member of the NHS Cheer Squad, Future Farmers of America, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She is one of five Seniors of Distinction.

Dillard plans to attend Southern Arkansas University and pursue a degree in criminal justice.

Faith Gibbs, daughter of Chris and Maria Gibbs, will graduate with high honors.  She was a member of Future Business Leaders of America her junior year and placed 2nd in Advertising at the regional level.  She was named Defensive MVP for the Lady Jays Basketball Team during her junior year.  She is a member of the NHS Cheer Squad, Lady Jays Track and Cross Country teams.  She was nominated for FCA and made the NCA Cheer Team.  She received the All-Star Runner Award and placed 8th at the state level in Track. Faith is an Arkansas Scholar and recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.

Gibbs plans to attend Southern Arkansas University and pursue a degree in nursing with plans to become an international humanitarian relief worker.

Jillian Pinner, daughter of Adam and Laurie Pinner, will graduate with high honors.  She is a member of the Lady Jays Volleyball and Softball teams.  She was named All Conference in Volleyball for three years and All Conference in Softball one year.  She is one of five Seniors of Distinction.

Pinner plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas and major in biology with the intent to pursue a career in pediatric physical therapy.  

Kyron Williams, son of Troy and April Hamilton, will graduate with high honors.  He is a member of the Nevada Bluejays Band and in the Gifted and Talented Program. He is one of five Seniors of Distinction and recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.

Williams plans to attend Southern Arkansas University Tech and major in Engineering Technology.
