Nevada High School holds pre-Homecoming coffee this morning

The Nevada Blue Jays Homecoming Court poses in their school's library at this morning's community coffee.

Breakfast items were served and pictures were taken at this morning's community coffee, which was hosted by Nevada Schools to show off its Homecoming Court.

Homecoming Queen Nakia Prater, her maids, her Princess and her Crown Bearer were in attendance to promote Nevada's upcoming Homecoming ceremonies and game. A pep rally is scheduled in the campus gym at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. On Friday afternoon, starting at 5:00 p.m., the coronation ceremonies will take place.

The Homecoming game itself will pit the Blue Jays varsity boys team against the Friendship Aspire Warriors.

Among the eats on display at the coffee were pimento finger sandwiches, pinwheels, bacon-wrapped smokies, nachos with cheese sauce. An apple-orange punch was also available.

Nevada Schools Nurse Lindsey Casey said she and other teachers and staffers of the school on the Homecoming Committee had helped decorate and put together the food items and beverage for the coffee.
