Upon entry to the state-of-the-art office buildings, you can see a pumpkin balloon arch covering the door frames with a creepy skeleton sporting a New Millenium hard hat perched on a bench. Children, along with parents dressed in their most gory or most comical costumes stepped inside on their way through a maze of spooky halls decked out with a jumping spider, bats, ghosts and more!
At every turn, there was a monster, a ghoul, or a goblin to hand out candy to those who made their way through the web of Halloween fun. This year the games were outside, the giggling kiddos played a variety of games like ring and bean bag toss along with many others. Hot dogs and drinks were provided in a cooler alongside other packaged candy and snacks on a table in the break room.
Further down the corridor, past the Crayola Crayons, The Wizard of Oz, The Witches and Warlocks, the new Mill Boo Barn was in full effect. Youngsters could pet their choices of animals: baby pigs, a miniature horse, and a very calm donkey named Fred who delighted the kiddos when they sat atop him as parents took pictures.
Everyone seemed to be impressed with the costumes that were themed based on the company's departments, as each employee was decked out in Halloween garb The Finance Department dressed as colorful Crayola Crayons, Customer Service as Warlocks and Witches and the Sales Department skipped down the yellow brick road as The Wizard of Oz.
One of the many new additions to the bash this year was a costume contest, which took place in the conference room. Malaiya Shepard aka Minnie Mouse took the prize out of a large group of disguised youngsters.
"The office departments at New Mill have been working hard to bring this to fruition for the team members children. This being our second year, we wanted to go bigger. And it’s safe to say, we made that happen,” Administrative Assistant, Brandy Brooks said. Everyone was pleased at the turnout and are already excitedly talking about next year's bash.
