FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 14 Arkansas Razorbacks face their fourth straight ranked opponent, traveling to Columbia, S.C., for a three-game series at No. 25 South Carolina on April 12-14.  Friday’s series opener is slated for 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network with Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Madison Shipman (analyst) on the call.

 

Game two starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday on SEC Network. Sunday’s series finale starts at 1 p.m. on SEC Network+.

On Saturday, the Southeastern Conference and other programs nation-wide team up to wear teal, honoring Alex Wilcox who was a member of the 2018 Mississippi State softball team. Wilcox inspired the nation with her courageous fight against ovarian cancer. Arkansas will wear white jerseys with teal accents.

  • Earning her first career SEC weekly honor, Leinstock is the first Arkansas pitcher to receive SEC Pitcher of the Week since Chenise Delce did on Feb. 27, 2023.
  • The redshirt senior RHP from Scottsdale, Ariz., was instrumental in the Razorbacks’ series win against No. 11 Missouri on April 5-7 at Bogle Park. Leinstock went 2-0 in the circle with a 1.54 ERA, limiting the Tigers to just three runs on 10 hits with 14 strikeouts across 13.2 innings. Of the 10 hits surrendered, only one went for extra-bases.
  • In the series opener vs. Missouri on April 5, Leinstock twirled her fifth complete game of the season after spinning 7.0 frames and allowing just two runs on five hits while punching out seven. She worked around a walk and kept the Tigers scoreless on three hits until the seventh inning.
  • In Sunday’s rubber match, Leinstock earned her second win of the weekend after effectively throwing 6.2 innings and checking the Tigers to just one run on five hits while fanning seven batters. She worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first and kept Missouri off of the board until the fifth. After a single plated the Tigers’ lone run, Leinstock worked around a runner at second with two down by dialing up a strikeout to limit the damage. Leinstock retired the final six batters she faced before turning the keys over to LHP Robyn Herron in the top of the seventh with two outs.
  • Leinstock has secured four top-15 ranked wins in her last four outings in the circle. In conference-only play, she ranks amongst the SEC’s best in several categories including wins (2nd – 5), batters struck out looking (2nd – 14), ERA (6th – 2.25) and total strikeouts (6th – 43).

  • Under head coach Courtney Deifel the Hogs have been ranked 95 times in the USA Today/NFCA Poll. Prior to her tenure, Arkansas was ranked just one time in program history (2013).
  • The Hogs have been ranked in the USA Today/NFCA Poll in 88 of its last 89 releases, dating back to week seven of the 2018 campaign.
  • Arkansas has received a vote in the last 107 releases of the USA Today/NFCA Poll, the longest streak in program history.
