BATON ROUGE, La. – The fourth-ranked Hogs (14-3, 9-1 SEC) ended their historic 14-game winning streak, falling at LSU, 4-2.

How it Happened

Arkansas got on the board quickly, scoring in the third minute with a lob-in from senior Parker Goins. Midfielder Kayla McKeon launched a pass down the field to sophomore Kiley Dulaney outside the 18-yard box. Dulaney found Goins near the penalty spot, where Goins connected with the ball, sending it in with her right foot. The score was Goins’ ninth of the season.

LSU struck back in the 18th minute with a header from defender Shannon Cooke inside the six-yard box. The Tigers added to their lead in the 43rd minute after forward Rammie Noel fired from the top of the box, beating Hogs keeper Hannah Warner.

The Tigers extended their lead early in the second half after Tinaya Alexander sent a shot from inside the penalty box and past the hands of Warner.

The Hogs cut into the lead in the 68th minute after the LSU keeper Mollie Swift attempted to make a short pass that was deflected by junior Anna Podojil. Podojil took advantage of the empty net to notch the Razorbacks’ second goal of the match.

LSU’s Alexander scored her squad’s fourth goal with just 10 seconds remaining.

Arkansas finished the match outshooting the home team 22-11.

Hear It From Coach Hale

“First off, congrats to LSU. They played desperate in the first half and we didn’t. In the second half, I thought we played better. Winning is hard and that is a good reminder. We had our chances in the second. This will make us better.”
