HOPE – Letters of nomination from residents of Hope Public Schools Board Zone 3 interested in serving after the creation of a vacancy on the board are being accepted in the office of HPS Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart.
Zone 3 Representative and Board President Willie Buck has not filed for re-election and no candidates have filed for the position, Dr. Hart said.
Hart set a March 12 deadline for the receipt of letters from qualified voters of the zone represented by Buck.
Under Arkansas school law, the board has the responsibility to fill a vacancy within 30 days of the creation of a vacancy. Hart said the vacancy will not occur until after the March 3 school election which is conducted in conjunction with state preferential primary elections.
Hart said letters of nomination should be submitted to his office at 117 E. Second St., Hope, Ar.,71801, before the close of business on March 12.
