WALNUT, California – Arkansas hurdler Phillip Lemonious claimed victory in the 110m hurdles in 13.56 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday.

Lemonious, who posted the time into a headwind of 1.4 mps, equals the sixth fastest time in the world for 2022. He is currently sixth among collegians this season under all-conditions and the third fastest collegian with a wind-legal time.

“To be honest, it was expected,” said Lemonious. “I did what my coach told me to do. Basically, the time isn’t as import right now, but I’m very grateful to get such a time.

“The wind wasn’t really a problem you just have to not think about it. I went into the race not thinking, just executing and to have fun.”

The Friday session opened with the Razorbacks placing third in their prelim heat of the 4x100 relay with a 39.84 from the foursome of Roman Turner, Connor Washington, Lemonious, and Tre’Bien Gilbert.

In the 400m, with sections against time, Brandon Battle led Arkansas with a 46.79 and was followed by James Milholen (46.93) and Phillip Anderson (47.94).

Over 800m, Leroy Russell III led the UA squad with an outdoor best of 1:48.67 to place seventh overall. Kieran Taylor finished ninth with a 1:48.99. They were followed by Jadon Bartholomew with a career best of 1:49.17, Ricardo Banks (1:51.74), and Ethan Carney (1:54,10).

Washington claimed his section of the 200m in a wind-aided 20.89, and placed 13th overall.

Racing in the prelims of the 110m hurdles, Lemonious was third best with a 13.70. Other Razorbacks in the prelims included Gilbert (14.03), Matthew Lewis-Banks (14.22) and Brevin Sims (14.40).

In the 100m, Turner had a wind-aided 10.31 while Cade Clark ran 10.87.

Racing at Azusa Pacific in the Bryan Clay Invitational, Elias Schreml had a career best time of 3:40.57.
