Pink Pancake Breakfast supports breast cancer awareness in the community

Locals gathered at The First National Bank of Tom Bean this morning for the Pink Out Day Pink Pancake Breakfast hosted by Arkansas Department of Health’s (ADH) BreastCare services. Event coordinator Christy Jackson, Regional BreastCare Coordinator for ADH, said this event and much more are an important part of supporting breast cancer awareness.

"Our goal for this event was to raise awareness and provide education on breast care for the community," Jackson said. "We are also here to collect donations for the Tough Kookie Foundation, an organization that serves Miller and surrounding counties by providing mammograms, help with finances, or assistance with other services for breast care patients." Jackson said the event was made possible with the help of multiple local businesses and organizations: Pafford, New Millenium, Sysco, Super One, Tasty Donuts, Little Teapot Bakery, First United Methodist Church, and First National Bank of Tom Bean.

Games for the kiddos and booths manned by local health care organizations were spread out all around the venue for a little fun, plus education. And best of all, pancakes, sausage, fruit, donuts, and more were available for those who decided to come on out for a pancake breakfast and help support the fight against breast cancer.
