Pirates Top Bearden 59-55 in Fordyce Tournament
Fordyce- The Emerson Pirates hit the road to Fordyce for a matchup against the Bearden Bears in the Fordyce Tournament. Emerson fell behind the Bears in the opening quarter 14-11, and Bearden would extend their lead to 33-20 at the half. After some good adjustments at the half, the Pirates came out running, as they outscored the Bears 24-9 in the third quarter behind an 8-point quarter from Eric Burton. With a 2-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Pirates defense clamped down, as Emerson outscored Bearden in the final quarter to win the game 59-55. 

Eric Burton led all scorers with 17 points, including hitting 5 free throws, as he shot the ball well from the line. Payton Ferguson poured in 15 points and Nyjuan Hanson added 14 points. 

The Pirates will continue their play in the Fordyce tourney this week as they play Dermott on Saturday.
