Tonight was another hot July night with temperatures soaring high, but it didn't keep the car lovers away from the Plow Boys Cruise Night in downtown Hope. Patrons strolled up and down the street admiring the classics and modern alike. When a break was needed, they could stop at Tailgaters for a cold drink and an award-winning Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger or they could pop into Vintage Girls Boutique & More for a little shopping. The family atmosphere was in full swing with classic rock and pop songs in the background while the kiddos could roam safely since the entire block was sectioned off from thru traffic. This month's sponsors were as gracious as ever and the door prizes for the drawings were top-notch. They included gift certificates from Tailgaters, McDonalds, El Agaves, and Beards & Sheers, as well as auto accessories from Auto Zone, t-shirts from Best Engines in Texarkana, and gifts from the Plow Boy Car Club members themselves. There was even a tool box that appeared as a contribution at the door prize table with only a note saying it was from the "No Name Gang - DeQueen, AR." This must disprove the theory that when temperatures soar, so do tempers, because what was witnessed at Cruise Night in downtown Hope tonight was another display of hospitality and kindness, as is seen at every Cruise Night. The guys from Plow Boys, the sponsors donating items, and the proprietors who open there doors on a Saturday night to welcome guests are all dedicated to bringing a night of family entertainment to the community. That show of neighborly good will beats the heat every time and draws a crowd no matter the temperature.
Plow Boys invites the community to next month's Cruise Night on August 28 from 6pm to 8pm in downtown Hope. FREE Entry, amazing door prizes, great music, a family atmosphere, and, of course, plenty of cars and trucks will be available for families to enjoy. Cruise Nights occur every fourth Saturday from the months of April to October culminating in a huge Trunk-or-Treat bash in October. All are invited.
