Quite the crowd turned up in downtown Hope Saturday night to attend the May Cruise Night presented by the PlowBoys Car Club. With festive music and the sound of laughter in the air, spectators admired the polished chrome and glossy paint jobs of 41 cars and trucks hailing from Hope and local communities, as well as some brought from Texarkana and even as far as Mena. From classic muscle cars to the most modern of automobile tech, plenty of variety was on display for the whole family to enjoy with the beautiful weather.
Along with the free admission for all, The PlowBoys Car Club also had a bevy of door prizes to give away to patrons. Car wash kits, tool sets, and gift certificates for local restaurants were just a few of the prizes handed out at the end of the night; some of these gifts were provided by car club members and some were donated to the Cruise Night by local businesses such as O’Reilly’s, AutoZone, McDonalds, and El Agaves. PlowBoys member Shane White said the club was deeply appreciative of the support from the participating businesses and community partners. He shared with SWARK.Today the club’s goals for these monthly Cruise Nights. “We just want everyone to come out and have a good time,” said White. “There is no charge for people to come, it is something for the whole family to enjoy, and we have a ball doing this with everyone.”
In addition to the exciting assembly of automobiles and door prizes in the car show, the shops Vintage Girls Boutique & More and Be-Dazzled had a special opening for customers, and Tailgaters was available for a quick bite or refreshments. A free COVID19 vaccination booth was also on site provided by the Arkansas Department of Health. They set up sites all over the state to provide free vaccinations for any community members who might be interested.
The PlowBoy Car Club members know how to put on a show. Some could be seen chatting with guests, working the door prize table, or just making themselves available to answer questions about specific automobiles. A wonderfully pleasant group of people, the club donates time and effort each month to providing a free, fun night for all ages to enjoy. Whether one is looking for a local event to take the kiddos on a Saturday night, or someone wants to take those big kids (ahem...dads!) to check out those classics with the powerful engines, Cruise Night is the destination to seek. The PlowBoys Car Club Cruise Nights are held every fourth Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm in downtown Hope from April to October. Next month’s Cruise Night will be June 26 with free admission and door prize drawings for all.
