FAYETTEVILLE – No other freshmen in the Southeastern Conference has more SEC Freshman of the Week awards than Saylor Poffenbarger, who just picked up her third weekly honor of the season, as announced by the league Tuesday. Poffenbarger has won the weekly award for the past three out of the past four weeks.

The Razorbacks faced its toughest test of the season last Saturday at No. 16 Creighton, and the team passed. Arkansas earned an 83-75 victory against a Creighton team who returned 84 percent of its production from its Elite 8 Team last season. Poffenbarger played a huge role in Arkansas’ huge road win, logging her third double-double of the season off 16 points and 11 rebounds. She also added three assists and two steals across a game-high 38 minutes played.

In her first season, Poffenbarger leads the team in rebounds (8.3 per game) and is tied with teammate Erynn Barnum for a team’s most blocks (15), while also averaging 9.2 points per game in 13 starts. The Middletown, Maryland product ranks second in defensive rebounds per game (7.2) and seventh in rebounds per game in the SEC.
