Winter Storm Izzy is predicted to hit many regions across the nation this weekend and possibly bring some light winter weather to Southwest Arkansas. For now, the forecast calls for light snow in our area Saturday night, but as the storm progresses this could change. The National Weather Service is monitoring this front closely. Below is the current forecast for the weekend.

Friday through Wednesday…

Precipitation in association with our next storm system will begin affecting the region during the day Saturday. A strong cold front will move through the region on Saturday with very cold temperatures in the wake of this front. Rain could become mixed with snow and change over to mostly light snow before ending late Saturday Night into early Sunday. At this time, little if any impacts are expected with this winter weather event but the possibility of small snow accumulations on mainly elevated surfaces will continue to be monitored as the event nears.
