Prescott youth share holiday happiness at Breakfast with Santa event
Breakfast with Santa was another holiday hit with the local children in Prescott this morning, and the Potlatch Building was overflowing with families who were there to participate in the fun and games. As always, bingo was a big hit, in addition to a pic with Santa; the lines stayed long for those two particular stations. Writing letters to Santa, decorating cookies, receiving Christmas (temporary) tattoos, and making reindeer food were just a few of the many popular activities that made the children as happy as Frosty in a blizzard.

The Prescott Nevada County Chamber of Commerce facilitated the event and the cost of entry for families was simply a donation of canned goods, which will later be given to the Nevada County Foodshare. A plethora of local businesses, organizations, and citizens donated items to be used for prizes in bingo, food for the breakfast, supplies at game stations, and more. All of these donations, plus the hard work of those who worked and planned the event, paid off exceptionally well because the kiddos had a blast this morning.

Tayleigh Wilson, age 6, said her favorite thing at the event was writing a letter to Santa.

When asked about her favorite activity, Kierlynn Colbert, age 7, responded with “everything!” And then she said she liked the tattoos.

The Krumnow crew, fresh off the stage after their photo with Santa, shared their responses with SWARK.Today when asked about their faves of the day. Braxton, age 8, said his favorite was bingo. Lillyan, age 6 and also bearing the title of Little Miss Nevada County, said the best activity was seeing Santa. Owen, age 3, said Spiderman was his favorite… however, Spidey must have been in hiding because this reporter never caught so much as a glimpse of the superhero anywhere at this Christmas party. But if Owen said that’s his fave, then we believe him.

And we can’t leave out Chloe Riffee, age 10, who was probably the most festively dressed of the day in an outfit she made herself. She said she enjoyed it all.

Stay tuned to SWARK.Today as we continue to bring you the latest in holiday happenings this Christmas season.
