An early miscue for the Curley Wolves placed Horatio at Prescott's 10-yard line in a 1st and Goal situation. The defense set the tone for the night as they kept the Lions off the scoreboard.Â
The offense did not waste another opportunity, as Jah’Noah Harris took the ball 86 yards for a touchdown. That score would be one of six Curley Wolves TDs in the opening quarter. The Curley Wolves would lead 42-0 after the first quarter and 56-0 at the half.Â
Prescott would tack on another score and win the game 62-7. Pierce Yates went 10-11, 10-10 after his first attempt that was intercepted. Yates threw for 246 yards and 5 touchdowns (to four different receivers) and did all of that in the first quarter. Pierce did a great job of spreading the wealth as D’Wayne White had two catches for 98 yards and 2 TDs, PJ Gulley had a TD and 57 yards on two catches, Spencer Hubbard had 60 yards receiving and caught a TD, Hubbard also tossed a two-point conversion pass to Rasheed Muhammed, and Jaylen Johnson had 40 yards and a TD.Â
Jah’Noah Harris had 117 yards on three carries and one TD, KJ Page had 37 yards and a TD, and Mario Brownlee found the endzone in the second half for a TD.Â
DeCari Prater took an INT 58 yards to the house. Prescott would add 3 more INTs as Jayquan Dickerson, Owen Glass, and Rhett Cornish each had INTs for the Curley Wolves.Â
John Rabadan made 5 PATs and David Rabadan made 1 PAT. The defense was excellent on Thursday as usual, including not allowing a single first down on Horatio’s first seven possessions. SWARK reporter Caytlee Poole caught up with Coach Brian Glass after the game. He talked about the win, “It feels great. The latest championship is always the best one. We haven’t been beaten in conference since 2018. We are super proud of this group.” It is officially playoff time in Prescott and the Curley Wolves will host Palestine-Wheatley.Â
