Prescott Clinches 5th Consecutive District Title with 27-0 Victory against Smackover
Smackover- The Curley Wolves clinched another conference championship this past Friday night as they shutout the Buckaroos 27-0. Coach Brian Glass was extremely proud of his team as he caught up with reporter Caytlee Poole after the game, “That was our main goal for the regular season, to win our 5th consecutive district championship in a row and get the #1 seed in the playoffs.” The Curley Wolves will head into a week 9 bye before they play host to Horatio for Senior Night on Nov. 3. Pierce Yates led the offense Friday night with 203 passing yards and 1 TD through the air, Pierce also ran for 32 yards and 1 TD. Jah’Noah Harris had a great night with 82 yards on the ground and Tiquan Box found paydirt on a 35-yard TD scamper. PJ Gulley continues to shine as he led Prescott with 89 receiving yards and 1 TD. Spencer Hubbard had a great game as well with 76 yards on 3 receptions, D’Wayne White had 42 total yards on offense, and Jaylen Johnson had 28 total yards. DeCari Prater had one of the more electric plays of the game with a 71-yard kickoff return for a TD. John Rabadan was 3/4 on PATs. The Curley Wolves tenacious defense was spot on Friday night, as they pitched a shutout against Smackover, a team that has averaged 30ppg in their two conference games so far this season. This defense has been really tough on opposing offenses all season to move the ball against and it’s a unit that takes pride in the number 0 as that is always the goal to hold opposing teams too. Prescott is now outscoring conference opponents 182 to 35. Prescott is back in action on Nov 2nd for Sr. Night against Horatio. Kickoff at 7pm.
