Prescott Girls Golf Team wins District Tourney; Headed to State

The Prescott Girls Golf Team played in the 5AAA District Tournament today and these Curley Wolves left the course with first place. The girls (Kelsie Harvey, Lainey Robbins, Chloe Grimes, Caytlee Poole) ended the tourney with a team score of 284, with Bismarck's second place at 324. Harvey earned her place as Medalist with a score of 91. With this big win, these Curley Wolves will be heading to the State Tournament next week.

Coach Mike Godwin said he was proud of the girls performance today, in addition to their efforts all season. "I think that all four of them have played well all year," Godwin said. "They've all had good rounds and good scores, and I'm proud they were able to have such a great day at the District Tournament."

Prescott hosted the District Tournament this year, allowing the team to play on their home course. Godwin said that while the State Tourney will be held on an unfamiliar course, he is looking forward to watching the girls compete and display the skill they showed today. The girls will travel to Turkey Mountain on Sunday, begin practice on Monday, and start their competition for the State Tournament on Tuesday.

Tomorrow, the Prescott Boys Golf Team will compete in their District Tournament at the Prescott Country Club, beginning at 9am.
