The Prescott Kiwanis had a good turnout at their annual Chili Luncheon today as cars lined up around First United Methodist Church so citizens could grab some hot chili, cornbread, and dessert. Some locals took advantage of the nice weather by walking to the church to grab lunch, and even a few furry friends could be seen. Kiwanis members said this annual event has been taking place for around twenty years. Kiwanis President Fred Harris said the chili luncheon proceeds are used to sponsor the Honor’s Banquet for Prescott High School. “At, Kiwanis, our focus is our children’” Harris said. “Our mission and motto is all about helping the children of the community.” Harris said the Chili Luncheon is one of two major fundraisers that Prescott Kiwanis holds each year, and all those proceeds go towards youth programs, as well.
