Prescott Lady Wolves begin their season

The Prescott Lady Wolves Softball team kicked off their season with a favorable start last week winning two out of their three games. The Lady Wolves started off with a bang on Monday defeating Dierks Lady Outlaws, 14-8. On Wednesday, the Arkadelphia Lady Badgers took the win with a final score of 3-2, but the Lady Wolves rallied and on Friday, defeating the Nevada Lady Blue Jays 16-1. Yesterday, Coach Mike Godwin shared with SWARK.Today his thoughts on the first week of the season. "We are off to a pretty good start winning two of our first three games," Godwin said. "We didn’t play well at Arkadelphia last Wednesday, but we came back Friday with a good win over Nevada. We travel to Glen Rose today to open our conference schedule. They will be a tough test for us. They were good last year and they return their pitcher and several key starters." Godwin said the Lady Wolves return two seniors, Kamryn Collier and Brooke Formby this year. Kamyrn plays centerfield and was recently moved to third base, while Brooke is shortstop. The team has three juniors starting this year: Kailee Reese at first base, Lilly McKinnon in center field, and Tori Franklin in left field. "They all have done a good job in leading our team the first three games," Godwin said.

Stay tuned to SWARK.Today to find out the results of the Glenn Rose game. Below are Game Reports for the first week's games with pitching stats, as well as info about leading hitters, and photos from the Lady Wolves Friday game against Nevada.
