The Prescott Lady Wolves just held their second week of the season. They may have started the week off with a loss when they were defeated by the Glen Rose Beavers (10-5) on Monday, but the Lady Wolves rallied on Wednesday by taking the win against the Foreman Lady Gators (14-6). Friday’s game against Bismark was canceled because of the inclement weather.
Coach Mike Godwin said that although their first conference game against Glen Rose was a loss, the team’s strengths certainly helped in their Wednesday game against Foreman. He said, “Our hitting and pitching has been good; Lainey hasn’t walked a batter all year so far. Our goal moving forward is to get better defensively and not make errors.”
In both games, Kailee Reese had a triple and Lainey Robbins had a double, with multiple players producing singles. The team as a whole, however, had more RBIs in the Foreman game, resulting in a much higher score (see stats below).
The Lady Wolves next meet Ashdown today at 4:30 in Prescott.
