At 67 Gas & Grill on Highway 67 in Emmet this morning, a Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee took place with carnival as the theme.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., visitors began arriving and were treated to a table laden with mini-corndogs, funnel cake, fresh popcorn, nachos and lemonade.

The business was started in 2018 by Jason and Linda Hamilton, who explained what drove them to create the store that has become an institution in the region: “My husband, Jason Hamilton, is from Emmet. He's lived here his whole life. So his heart is in this community. This building sat vacant for several years, and he just had a heart to want to open this back up. The community really needed it open. So I quit nursing, I retired, and we opened this up, and we’ve just been able to offer services here for the community.”

Included in those services are the music nights, every other Tuesday. “Oh, everybody loves Music Night. That brings people from all over. Murfreesboro, Nashville, Magnolia. We have people come from Louisiana, Texarkana. We have people come from a long way, so they're a big hit,” Hamilton said.

Jamie Hillery, the chamber’s executive director said, “Miss Linda, of course, is what makes 67 Gas & Grill special. She has put her heart and soul into this business since 2018. She serves her community. She also is a member of our chamber and on the board. So she attends all of the other businesses’ ribbon cuttings, community coffees and things like that.”

Supporters of the business posed with the owners and employees for a photo below the Highway 67 sign.
