Prescott-Nevada County Chamber hosts Christmas Coffee
The reds and greens were vivid in the front room of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce offices Thursday morning as Executive Director Valarie Cobb welcomed visitors wanting scrumptious breakfast treats and good conversation.

A table was laden with such items as sausage balls, pigs in blankets, brownie cups, tortilla chips and nacho sauce and other lovelies.  The beverage was a Christmas red frozen punch.

During the coffee, Cobb sold a couple Christmas Tree ornaments from a line that features artistically rendered images of historic buildings that once stood in Prescott. They are available for $10 each. The tree at the window featured many of them to great advantage.

Cobb, who took on the job near the end of the summer, explained why she held the coffee.  "I wanted to do something to show the community that I appreciate all the support. I know this is a busy season and but I have been felt very supported since I took over in August, and I thought this was just a small token of my appreciation that I could say thank you and and that's that was the point of me having it here at the Chamber also, so people would know exactly where we are."

The food came courtesy of several contributors.  "My daughter baked, I baked, [Administrative Assistant] Kim Jester baked, and then I had Shonda Langham bake. She came in today bringing things when I told her that she did not have to. So it was kind of a collaborative effort."
