Prescott Police Dept. Makes Drug/Firearm Arrests

On Friday, October 16, 2020 Officers with the Prescott Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence, located at 319 Bryant Street, in Prescott, Nevada County, Arkansas.

The search warrant comes after weeks of undercover investigations completed by the Prescott Police Department, for the possession and distribution of prescription medication, and the sale of alcohol without a license.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers located and seized a large amount of Hydrocodone pills separately packaged for sale. Officers also seized a loaded .38 revolver within a few feet from where the Hydrocodone pills were located. Several other firearms, multiple cases of liquor and beer, along with packaging material and $1424.00 in US currency.

Joysland Buford of Prescott, Arkansas was arrested on a warrant for Delivery of a Schedule I or Schedule II Controlled Substance that is not Methamphetamine or Cocaine, and also charged with Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of a Schedule I or Schedule II Controlled Substance that is not Methamphetamine or Cocaine with the Purpose to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug Premises and Sale or Possession of Alcohol without a License. Joysland is being held for a first court appearance.

John Buford of Prescott, Arkansas was arrested and charged with Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of a Schedule I or Schedule II Controlled Substance that is not Methamphetamine or Cocaine with the Purpose to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug Premises and Sale or Possession of Alcohol without a License. John is being held for a first court appearance.

The Prescott Police Department will continue to investigate narcotics within the City of Prescott.
