Prescott is coming off a 42-0 win against Palestine-Wheatley and Fordyce beat Gurdon 37-0. This is the second matchup of the season against Fordyce for Prescott. The first game was a 17-0 Curley Wolves win in Fordyce.Â
The defense was lights out that night, and they will look to be the same this Friday. “You can expect us to fly around and be all over the ball and hopefully put up a goose egg like last time,” Lavonte Gleason said this past week about the defense.Â
Gleason added, “It’s win or go home.”Â
Gleason is coming off a big game last week as he had an INT and a fumble recovery. The secondary is looking forward to having a great game plan and executing it this Friday.Â
The linebacking group has been good all season, and the last time they played Fordyce Talan Smith had 18 tackles, and Tayshawn Smith had a great game as well with over 10 tackles. KJ Page has been making play after play as well.Â
The defensive line is ready for the challenge of stopping the run and putting the Redbugs in passing situations so they can get after the quarterback. “I expect our defense to come out with a lot of energy and continue to be a tough group,” Coach Brian Glass said on Tuesday about his defense. This defense has been very impressive this season as they have only allowed more than 20 points once all year.Â
Pierce Yates will look to continue to impress and lead this high-powered offense. But Prescott had a tough time running the ball in the game against Fordyce this year. The offensive line is coming off its best few games in a row and look to build on that this week.Â
Jah’Noah Harris could be poised to have a big game, as he looks to piggy-back off his game this past week where he had three touchdowns. The receiving group of the Curley Wolves, which are made up of PJ Gulley, D’Wayne White, Jaylen Johnson, and Spencer Hubbard have proven hard to defend all season.Â
“Fordyce is going to be ready to play on Friday, we’re going to have to come ready to play,” Glass said. About the defense of the Redbugs he said, “Fordyce has a very athletic team and they fly to the football."Â
The Prescott high powered offense has scored 444 points this season, which is a little over 40 per game. Prescott will need a great game plan this week, as the offense will look to score early and often against the Redbugs.Â
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday night. Come out and support the Curley Wolves, GO WOLVES!!
