Prescott vs Bismarck Preview
Prescott- It’s Thanksgiving, so that means turkey, ham, dressing, desserts, and Curley Wolves Playoff football.

Prescott is hosting the Bismarck Lions in round three of the state playoffs with the winner extending its season and heading to the State Semis. Prescott opened its season this year with a trip to Bismarck as they beat the Lions 56-20 with the offense posting over 600 yards in the opener.

“They are a better team than what we faced at the beginning of the year. They have a lot of good football players,” Glass said about the Lions.

This past Friday against Fordyce the offense had a difficult time moving the football, so look for the Wolves offense to come out early and put points on the board. Pierce Yates had 333 yards passing against Bismarck in week 1 and also ran for 37 yards and produced 5 total TDs, so look for Yates to have another great game this week.

D’Wayne White had 129 yards and 2 TDs against Bismarck himself. Jaylen Johnson and PJ Gulley each had TDs as well, as the wide receiving group, along with Spencer Hubbard look poised Friday night for a big game. The O-line did great against the Lions as Jah’Noah Harris and KJ Page each had over 100 yards rushing as the line blocked well all game long.

The Curley Wolves defense is coming off a dominating performance against Fordyce, and they will look to achieve the same against Bismarck. The Prescott defense posted six sacks against the Lions in their first meeting and only allowed 77 passing yards. Jamarion Burton spoke on the defense: “Expect another big week from the defense. We’re fired up and we’re ready.”

This Prescott defensive front of Burton, Rasheed Muhammed, Rocco Patrick and Marshawn Rafter are the best defensive line in 3A. Marshawn Rafter said they all look forward to the challenge Friday, “We feel the same as always. We’re ready to go out there and handle business.”

This defense has been tough all season to score on and move the ball against. Talan Smith leads the linebacking group along with standout Tayshawn Smith and KJ Page, as they continue to impress and show that they all are very good tacklers who understand their assignments.

The “No Fly Zone” at the back end of this defense continues to play well. DeCari Prater, Richard Benton, JK Jones, Lavonte Gleason, and Jaquan Dickerson are second to none when it comes to secondaries in 3A as they keep the field well covered, and they also enjoy contact and making tackles. Look for the defense to thrive again on Friday as they look to force Bismarck to a lot of third and long situations.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m at Cummins Stadium on Eddie Jackson Field. Go Wolves!!
